Skydiving Certification – Is It Worth Getting One?

Thursday, July 11, 2019

Didn’t you have even a little pang of jealousy watching the videographer on your jump? Like: You’re hanging in the sky, having a grand old time, but here’s this total badass in front of you, with a sporty little parachute tucked in behind her just waiting to spring out, behaving like the sky is a great big swimming pool and she’s a kid on vacation. We know you did! Here’s why getting a solo skydiving certification and following in her shoes is, like, the best idea EVAR.

1. You’ll have something truly amazing to share with the world.

Are your friends and family a little, well, vocally amazed at your new obsession with jumping out of planes? Totally normal. Also notable: If they’re hating, that’s their fear and insecurity, popping out in your direction.

Take it in stride. We think there’s quite a bit more to you than meets the eye, and this is just more evidence of that. Own that unique awesomeness that makes the pod people all itchy to tell you how nuts you are. It’ll serve you well when you’re out there jumping.

2. You’ll prove to yourself you can do anything. Really.

It may seem totally impossible that you’ll be huckin’ stuff like a YouTube star, but it’s not that crazy. In fact, learning to skydive on your own is kinda similar to learning to drive a manual car. It’s a little tricky at the beginning, but as soon as you get the hang of it, you’ll forget about those early moments of confusion. Your body will just do it.

After your body learns to feel the wind, you’ll be able to skydive upside-down, with your friends, while spinning around like you’re all on an enormous dance floor. It happens faster than you think, and the more you do it, the better you’ll get at it. Trust the process.

3. You’ll end up in a squad-goals situation.

The demographics for our sport are all over the place (we even have a special club for skydivers over the age of 90), across age, color, race and creed. We are, however, similar in one notable way: we’re all adventurers, and we’re all, well, seekers. If that’s you, you’ll fit right in. And once you’re in, you’re in — into the tightest, raddest, loveliest community of bright-eyed rogues the world has ever seen.

We had to reschedule our jump three times due to weather, but it was definitely worth the wait and I'm definitely going again! The entire crew was amazing!
