The tandem skydive is our recommended method to experience human flight for the first time. With less than an hour of training, you will be ready to take your first skydive! It is by far the quickest, safest and most convenient way to experience the thrill of freefall on your very first jump.
A tandem skydive at Skydive Tecumseh can take you higher than any other dropzone in Michigan, up to 18,000ft, providing up to or over a full minute of freefall, at speeds around 120 mph!
In a tandem skydive, one of our USPA-certified instructors will guide you through the whole jump from exit through freefall, piloting the canopy, and landing. You (the student) will wear a harness system that is attached to your tandem instructor's harness via four secure points. The tandem instructor wears a double-sized rig containing the parachute which you will have a chance to steer up high and he will then takeover control for the landing.
You will be attached to the front of the instructor, so during freefall you will have a full, breathtaking view of the scenery. After your parachute opens you will have a scenic 4 to 6 minute parachute ride which can be as gentle or exciting as you wish.
With a tandem skydive, you can even have a trained videographer jump with you to document your entire experience with video and still photos! Check out some examples of our professional-quality videos here.
