First let me say It was a wonderful week end. I had the privilege of meeting many new friends and the honor of skydiving with some very talented jumpers. The experience levels ranged from 48 jumps to multiple thousands. One of the common threads ,with all, was the talent of all the jumpers regardless of their experience. Working with talented people makes the organizers job much easier. There were some amazing things happening above Al Meyer airport. Steve Kanat, Brett Horsh (AKA “ Crack Monkey”), Dave Champeau and Abe Shepard spent a lot of time flying backward through transitions. They few individually, with pieces and even flew a 6 point no thumbs(contact with palms touching the back of the others hand) while rotating two round formations 360 and clicking toes as they spun. Yes they rotated backwards. They each exited from many positions, experienced big way line exits with no real exit count, practiced non momentum docking, flat track and radial break off procedures, box pattern canopy flight and group landings. Their performances were outstanding. Brian Sheehan, John Morrison and Ian Cherteinz (AKA” Horsack”) Demonstrated disciplined flying skills far beyond their number of jumps. Each one of theses flyers deserve special recognition for their exemplary performances. |
